My Journey Into Church
by Evelyn A. Myers
In 1975 I began my journey into Orthodox faith, drawn by the spirituality passed down for a thousand years; an unalterable tradition, untouched by the storms of change that swept through the Western churches.
The beauty of the icons, the air fragrant with incense and music was almost overwhelming. Of course, at times it was confusing as only Russian and Church Slavonic can be for a newcomer. But I happily accepted all that I found and being received into the fold and Chris mated by our beloved Bishop Joasaph was the culmination of my long pilgrimage.
I am grateful for the parishioners who helped me realize that I had found my way home.
