Pilgrimage to the Holy Land – 2010Dear parishioners!
The feast of the Joy Of Canada will be celebrated this Sunday, 29 July.
Serving with Vladika Lazar will be Father Alexey and Father Evgeny and the newly ordained Deacon Markel.
The very old and restored icon of Jesus Christ will be blessed and we will have a Cross Procession to the monuments in the field with the icon of the Joy Of Canada accompanying us. A short moleben will be served there and it might be good to suggest bringing an umbrella to shield yourself from the sun, as Sunday is supposed to be at least 37 degrees here in Dewdney.
Please bring abundant food to feed everyone and it might be an excellent idea to bring cold food, that is, things that do not have to be heated.
If you can, bring loose flower petals to scatter on the icon as you go under it, as this is an ancient and beautiful custom.
