Uman is the administrative center of Uman Raion

When Eugene was young his family moved up north to a town called Radugniy, where he graduated high school. Afterwards he moved back to Uman, where Eugene found a passion for cars and went to a mechanic College, where he graduated.

After the College he was blessed with his first-born son Roma, and this started his journey as a father.

Eugene’s mother, Ludmila, worked in a government office and his father Alexander worked on the Oil rigs and building houses. Unfortunately his father passed away in a car accident at the age of 43, and Eugene and his two brothers, Oleshka and Denis, were left alone.

Eugene had to grow up fast to raise his brothers and to take care of his mother. In the early 90s Eugene met Larysa and it was love at first sight. They got married, and that love created the birth of their daughter Sasha (Alex).

In the year 2000, Eugene and Larysa made a choice to move to Portugal to work hard and to provide income for the family. With the help of grandparents, they were able to stay in Portugal for about 4 years, saving up money. After this Larysa and Eugene returned to Ukraine and started thinking about another choice to move to Canada to create a better future for their daughter.

They moved to Vancouver in 2007, where they created many close relationships and memories. Being a new immigrant was really hard for Eugene. He started working in construction, and slowly worked his way up through different difficult career options. Later on, he was able to apply his passion to his career, working for the Top Lift as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.

In 2012 Eugene and Larysa were blessed with a second child, Mishka – born on the same day as their daughter Sasha, but 16 years later. Eugene loved all his kids so much: he was a great role model for Roma, he was daddy for his little princess Alex, and he was Mishka’s best friend. He was their whole world.

He couldn’t have raised his children without his lovely wife Larysa, whom he loved very much right to the day he died. They were both amazing role models and best friends, and were together for over 27 years.

The community that Eugene left behind, including all his friends and family, are now mourning his death with heavy hearts. Together we can all get through this awful tragedy. We hope you can all remember him with a smile on his face, surrounded by all the love and support of all those he loved so much, and who loved him in return.
