Rector’s Greetings on the eve of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ!

With the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Dear brothers and sisters, parishioners of Holy Resurrection Sobor!

Christ is born – Glorify Him!

On behalf of our Church Council and myself I cordially greet all of you with the coming Feast of the Nativity of our Lord and New Year!

The birth of Christ revealed God to us. We, as believers have our knowledge about God through Christ. This explains why we give praise, honor and gratitude to Him especially during the Holy Night. The Nativity gives us joy of God’s coming to earth and complete reassurance in eternal life.

Dear brothers and sisters, while celebrating this salvational Feast, let us remember that Christmas is not only abundance of food and fun (a party).

First of all, Christmas is prayer in Church, in the House of God, new “Cave,” new “Bethlehem.” Thus, singing in praises the birth of Christ, let us in our mind stand by the cave, where our Jesus Christ was born and venerate Him, as our Saviour. Instead of gold we bring Him our deep faith; instead of incense may we present Him with unshakable hope, instead of world our brotherly love, as well as the beauty of our souls and open hearts.

May the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord be a blessed, salvational, joyful one for all of us!

May Jesus Christ bless us with peace, tranquility, and earthly goods!

With love in the New-Born Christ and best wishes, Archpriest Mikhail Fourik.

As you know, dear brothers and sisters, our Sobor follows Julian old Church calendar, celebrating Christmas on January 7th!
